About Melanie
Melanie Yonks prides herself on “Helping people and businesses connect through clear and strategic communications that reveal the benefits, purpose and passion behind their products and services." After taking time out from her positions in Corporate Communications to raise her two daughters, Melanie went back to work in the event planning industry and, in October 2012, founded MDHY Communications.
As the President and owner, Melanie is proud to use her years of experience in corporate communications and event planning, along with her previous background in film and video production, to help clients reach their goals. Melanie worked as an Internal Communications Manager at GTE Directories, a Writer and Video Producer at JCPenney Company, and in public affairs programming as Associate Producer of “Weekend” at WFAA TV – Chanel 8. Through her experience on staff and as a consultant and free-lance writer and producer, and on events, Melanie has learned how to work with all levels of employees and customers with patience, flexibility and focus. She is customer and deadline driven, creative, budget conscious and strategic.
Her belief is that work at all levels should include excitement about the products and services a company offers. When employees receive clear, honest and informative messages from management and when those messages are strategically supported, they too become more passionate about their jobs and more motivated and productive. This enthusiasm and loyalty bleeds over into increased customers and customer loyalty and repeat business.
Melanie served on the board of Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI), Serves as secretary of Women in Film and Television U.S. (WIFT US), serves as WIFTI Liaison the Women in Film Dallas (WIFDallas) BOD and on the Advisory Council for WIFT Austin.
